SpCO is a breakthrough measurement that helps clinicians noninvasively and immediately diagnose, monitor, and treat patients poisoned by carbon monoxide.

Exposure to carbon monoxide (CO) is the leading cause of death by poisoning in industrialized countries.
CO poisoning is often misdiagnosed because symptons are similar to the flu.
Timely diagnosis and treatment of CO poisoning is critical.
SpCO has been shown to identify 60% more carbon monoxide poisonings than traditional methods.
SpCO may improve patient outcomes, increase clinical efficiency, and decrease the cost of care.

Reimbursement:

CPT code 88740 (transcutaneous carboxyhemoglobin) is the appropriate code to use for SpCO testing.
Allows healthcare providers to bill and recieve up to $7.33 per patient per day when testing eligible patients.
Medicare will only allow a single payment per patient/day for SpCO or SpMET, regardless of how many tests are performed on that date.
Medicare will not make payment for both SpCO and SpMet for the same patient on the same date of service.

Rainbow SET parameters can be added individually and in bundles and licensed for the Life of the Monitor or, for 1 and 3 years.
