Another valuable addition to the IntelliPAP line of machines manufactured by Drive DeVilbiss – the IntelliPAP AutoBiLevel is probably the most innovative combination of all the advanced features for delivering a comfortable therapy. As intelligent as the name, the IntelliPAP adjusts its pressure settings according to the patient’s individual requirements on both exhalation and inhalation by using the DeVilbiss AutoAdjust Algorithm.
SOFT START AND FLOW ROUNDING TECHNOLOGY
For making the therapy comfortable and easy to adapt to, the DeVilbiss IntelliPAP AutoBiLevel machine includes the option of soft start which increases pressure slowly to set the IPAP pressure every 10 seconds. This eases the adjustments to higher pressures that are required in every Bilevel therapy.
It uses the Flow rounding technology to soothe the constant shift between IPAP (inhalation) and EPAP (exhalation) to minimize complications. The breathing patterns are allowed to be adjusted based on a setting of zero and also do not require rounding up to 5 for a slow transition from IPAP and EPAP.
This machine imbibes the AutoAdjust feature along with the bilevel treatment. It adheres to the users’ breathing requirements i.e. minimum pressure at EPAP and maximum pressure at IPAP. The AutoBiLevel algorithm permits the use of a lower mean air pressure that offers a more comfortable therapy.
Now, users can be all aware of their sleep data without even buying software. The machine displays SmartCode messages just after your first day of treatment. There is a code that contains the sleep therapy results. The machine confirms therapy compliance and doctors also use the Adherence Percentage score to investigate the compliance level.
During set up of the device, users must select the Auto On/Off feature so that the IntelliPAP AutoBiLevel starts the airflow as soon as users breathe into the mask. The airflow stops as soon as the mask is removed or when it stops sensing breathing.
The Drive DeVilbiss IntelliPAP allows functioning on both AC and DC powers. So, the machine can be connected to an AC power source and it also has an optional 12 Volt DC power cord that acts as a DC power input should the AC power fail. Once the AC power is back, it again reverts to use the same. This way, there is no therapy interruption.
