The Pro REMStar 60 Series is the next generation in the line of “Pro” CPAP machines by Philips Respironics. Apart from the other features of earlier editions of this line of products, the 60 series offers a new level of therapy comfort with the Optional System One 60 series Heated Humidifier with Heated tube for 60 Series machines. The machine combines the proven comfort of C-Flex Plus pressure relief found in the REMStar Pro CPAP machine with C-Flex Plus PR System One, the Auto-Trial and CPAP-check modes of REMStar Pro CPAP with AutoIQ and humidification from System One 60 Series Heated Tube Humidifier with Heated Tube.
Smart Technological Assembly
The REMStar 60 Series has the smart technology of CPAP-check mode and Auto-Trial mode that offers up to 30 nights of auto adjusting capability. The system functions as an Auto CPAP during the period of use delivering an adaptive pressure on a breath by breath basis. The machine functions as a CPAP delivering the pressure that the patient was at or below 90% of the time when the Auto-Trial mode is on.
To verify pressure requirements continuously, the CPAP-check mode makes adjustments after every 30 hours of use providing the user with more effective pressure levels over time. Although the entire available 30 nights of Auto-Trial do not need to be used continuously, an Auto-Trial mode must be a minimum of 3 nights in length.
On Screen Data
Users of the 60 Series Pro can see the sleep data on the display screen. Apart from that the leak rate, Apnea/Hypopnea Index as well as the 7 and 30 day average pressure readings are also available.
System One Resistance Control developed by Philips Respironics allows their machines to reach optimal pressure by using a numbering system that allows the CPAP device to recognize a mask that is used with treatment. It instructs the device to compensate for the specific mask type for achieving reliability and accuracy.
C-Flex Plus Pressure Relief
It is a step further than the C-Flex technology, which is a prominent feature in all the Respironics CPAP machines. The C-Flex Plus offers a smooth transition between inhalation and exhalation.
Optional System One 60 Series Heated Tube Humidifier with Heated Tube
Philips Respironics has aimed at maximizing comfort while managing rainout and potential water damage by adding the Heated Tube option to their breakthrough System One Humidity System. The humidifier adjusts the level of humidity by analyzing the ambient room temperature and machine airflow. The heated tube is only 15mm and maintains the desired temperature evenly from the machine to the mask.
There are three levels of humidity – 70, 80, or 90 percent which can be selected from the on-screen menu. If you are worried about water damage to your CPAP, the REMStar 60 Series has the System One Dry Box technology that reduces the damage. Its unique design features prevent water from entering the machine and a center air outlet port uses a one way valve. If water were to escape the chamber it is trapped by the Dry Box.
